To the Giblon and Greene families, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom, proud grandmother, little sister, caring aunt, dear neighbor, and beloved friend. I met Karen through her sister Susan. Susan and her family took me in, in 2006, while I was in Ontario completing my BSW work placement. It’s funny looking back…I recall initially feeling a little intimidated by Karen! She exuded such strength, wisdom, and grace - she was rather stoic, in fact. The last time I saw Karen was two summers ago when she came to NL for a visit with Susan and their friend Zorah. Karen seemed to be really enjoying their trip. I was once again in awe of Karen’s energy and presence as a mother, knowing she raised FIVE incredible humans from childhood to adulthood. I can only imagine all the complex problems she helped solve over the years, guiding and supporting her family along. It’s so hard to believe that Karen is no longer with us in a physical sense. Still, I believe her energy and love is all around - in the stories we share, the pictures we hold close to our hearts, the memories we cherish, and the feelings that we feel when we remember her. I hope Karen’s outstanding energy brings much comfort to her children and loved ones, as they navigate the depths of grief in the days ahead. Sending my deepest condolences.

Both Danny and myself are saddened by the sudden loss of Karen. Danny knew Karen in high school and I met Karen when Susan became one of my closest friends in 1978. Karen was a wonderful, intelligent woman. When Danny, myself and our girls moved to Toronto in the early 90’s we made many wonderful memories with Karen and her family. To the Gibbon and Greene families, may your memories bring you peace and know that you were blessed with the love of this wonderful woman.

We were very saddened to hear the news that Karen had passed away. When I was on the Board at Bathurst Lawn, I recruited Karen to work at first part time. She had a rare quality of being a good listener - something that proved very important as she work so diligently in the office. It was with much shock that I learned this very sad news. Karen was extremely helpful to me as I dealt with many difficulties subsequent to my cousin's passing. Although the issues remain, she was a great comfort to me and did everything possible to rectify a stressful circumstance. She always responded to my concerns in a timely manner, consistently with professionalism and reassurance. I extend my most sincere condolences to her family, the Board of Directors and her co-workers at Bathurst Lawn.
