It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Berthe Glasroth at 92 years old on September 10th, 2026.

She was a devoted wife of 64 years to late husband Isaac Glasroth, dedicated Mother to Nathan, Joelle & Laurent, and loving Grandmother to Natalie, Daniel, Joshua, Samuel & Ariel. Survived by brother Raymond Grencel. She was a Holocaust survivor, a woman of great character, beauty, and strength. Berthe lived a fulfilling life, with a wonderful career, beautiful family, and many cherished memories. She will forever be in our hearts and never be forgotten.

We enjoyed knowing Betty for twenty years. She was special lady and we enjoyed her company. Our granddaughter Juliana lives in Belgium and whenever she visited the condo she enjoyed talking with Betty in French. She will be missed. Micki and Alan Cramer, and Juliana.

Steve and I are so sorry about the passing of my wonderful Aunt Betty. Growing up in Belgium, not far from where she lived, I have so many memories of her kindness, of her ready laugh, of her care for her family. She was beautiful, both inside and outside.

I wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of Berthe’s (Betty’s) passing. She was such a great lady and a beautiful soul. I live in the same building that she lived in and when she ventured outside for er daily walks, I would often meet her on her way and we would talk about things as we enjoyed the sunshine together. I will miss those times. My sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.

I was so deeply saddened to hear about Betty’s passing. I still can’t believe I won’t see her in our neighbourhood anymore. I often saw her on my way to Food Basics, and I always loved stopping to talk with her. She was such a warm and beautiful person. I will never forget her beautiful smile, her lovely face, her colourful and beautiful clothes, and the positive energy she always had. She had invited me to her apartment a few times, and I always thought I would have the chance to visit when things were less busy with work and my children. I also invited her to my home, thinking there would always be another opportunity. I’m so sad that there won’t be one now. Even though we weren’t very close, Betty touched my heart in a special way. Hearing this news tonight has made me feel as though I’ve lost someone from my own family, almost like my grandmother. My family and friends back home even knew about Betty because I talked about her. I will miss seeing her in our neighbourhood very much. My deepest condolences to her family and everyone who loved her. She will always be remembered with love and a smile.

Over 37 years my affections for Betty and Issac were simply happiness to have shared their lives with me and my late wife Susy. We shared their lives together with such amazing appreciation of their love for each other. Issac joked and Betty laughed with us. Promising that their love would last forever. And it did. My affection for your Mother lasted for so long, it was as if she too was my Motherly extension. Now, time has become the circle. Life, love and friendship is what we have. Compassionate affection. Respectfully received and reciprocated. Time is finite. Measure kindness as Betty only wished for all of us to be loving for each other. Her heartfelt lesson for me to share with you.
