Leanne Gorin

I had the privilege of teaching Leanne this spring, and I will always remember the joy and kindness she brought to the classroom every day. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

She enjoyed creative activities and was always game to try all the fun things set out daily. When I saw her last at the school’s anniversary celebration, Leanne was as smiley as ever. Leanne attended our school for Kindergarten. She was full of light and happiness. The entire staff at Aurora Grove Public School are devastated by this tragedy and share our deepest heartfelt condolences with the entire Gorin family. Dear Gorin family, As a teacher at L.B.P. and one who had the joy of teaching Nicole some years ago, I grieve with your entire family over such a devastating loss.

Dear Gorin family, My family weeps with yours at the loss of Leanne. I was messaging you about a field trip form when I learned Leanne was in the hospital. I have held my breathe for you these past several weeks of unknowns, and am crushed and in disbelief at the devastating news. I was so blessed to have your sweet daughter (ma poupée) in my class this year. She worked so hard to improve, and always wanted to do her very best. She was sweet and kind, but no pushover (fierce like her mama!) If she didn’t like the way someone was treating her or her friend, she had no problem letting them know. She made incredibly creative 3-D pictures and structures out of paper, and my walls were decorated with the keepsakes she created for me. At the end of each day, your little princess would ask me for a hug (in French, bien sûr!), and other teachers would regard me with envy at what a sweet and gentle student I had. I was so lucky. I know the kids in our class will struggle to understand how this could happen to someone so kind, so much a part of their world. We all grieve with you, and pray your family will know no more sorrow. Ma chère poupée, she will be in my thoughts always. Leah will miss her friend. Ilona I have no words. Ive met her only a handful of times, and from what I remember, she had the most beautiful soul. I am so sorry your family has to go through this. Although I didn't yet have the privilege of knowing Leanne, I had the pleasure of teaching her older sister Nicole and came to know what a wonderful family you are. I am so deeply sorry for your unimaginable loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts, and I hope you find strength and comfort in the love and support surrounding you during this incredibly difficult time.
